The sector Mechanics of AIB – Associazione Industriale Bresciana (Industrial Association of Brescia) and BIE – Brescia Industrial Exhibition have set up “IIR – Innovation Inspires Robots”, a competition reserved to the students of the local technical and professional schools, which will take place during BIE 2017, from Thursday 18th to Saturday 20th May 2017.
The main goal of the competition is to stimulate students’ interest in science and technology, arouse their creativity and make their skills emerge, putting their designing expertise and ability to the test, giving them the possibilty to stand out with their talent, Inspiring them to Innovation.
Students have to build robots which will have to recognize some spheres – of different dimensions and colors – thanks to a program developed by the students themselves using a computer. This program will be able to get images through a webcam and will give the coordinates of the spheres to the robot, which will pick them up/take them and put them down – on the basis of dimension and color – in the specific compartment of a box.
